Weezer tickets & concert schedule

Weezer were created by vocalist Rivers Cuomo (also guitar and keyboard), Jason Cropper (rhythm guitar), Matt Sharp (bass) and Patrick Wilson (drums e.t.c.), in 1992, in Los Angeles, California. Their sound is of alternative rock and power pop style, with pop punk and pop rock elements. After their first live appearances, they made a contract and began recording their first album.

Brian Bell took Cropper’s place and the group’s homonymous album came out in 1994, including the songs “Buddy Holly”, “Undone - The Sweater Song” and “Say It Ain’t So”. The video of “Buddy Holly” gained four MTV Video Music Awards later and the group returned to the studio for their second album “Pinkerton” that came out in 1996 and although it didn’t reach high on the charts, it gained recognition in the following years. After their tour in 1997, Weezer broke up and each member dealt with other projects, until 1998, when the group without Sharp, but with bassist Mikey Welsh, started recording their next album. The continues conflicts led Wilson to abandon the group and the rest members appeared only in a few live events.

In 2000, after an invitation to take part in the “Fuji Rock Festival”, Weezer returned to the stage and later joined the famous “Warped Tour” in the USA. “Weezer” (second homonymous album and also known as “Green Album”) came out in May of 2001 and peaked at the fourth position on the Billboard 200, with the songs “Hash Pipe” and “Island in the Sun” to separate. The group replaced Welsh (he died in 2011) with Scott Shriner, due to his psychological problems.

Weezer have recorded nine studio albums until 2019 and the cover album “Weezer” (or “Teal Album”), the group’s fifth album with the synonymous title. It came out on the same date when the group announced their upcoming album also named “Weezer” or “Black Album”. 2005’s “Make Believe” has reached Weezer's highest chart position (no. 2) on the US charts, although it received mixed critics, while 2017’s “Pacific Daydream” is their only album that didn’t enter the top ten on the USA. Among the group’s hits are the songs “Beverly Hills” that became their most commercially successful single, “Pork and Beans”, the video of which won the group’s only Grammy Award for “Best Music Video” in 2009, “Back to the Shack”, "Thank God for Girls", “Feels Like Summer” and the cover of Toto’s “Africa”.
