TLC tickets & concert schedule

TLC started as a female trio project in 1990, in Atlanta, Georgia. Crystal Jones was the first member, who was joined by Tionne Tenese Watkins and Lisa Nicole Lopes, but only the two latest agreed to sign a contract in 1991. Their manager Perri Arlette Reid, known as Pebbles found dancer Rozonda Ocielian Thomas as Jones replacement and the new trio began working together. Watkins, Lopes and Thomas obtain the nicks T-Boz, Left Eye and Chilli respectively, in order to keep the name TLC.

The group’s first album “Ooooooohhh... On the TLC Tip” came out in February of 1992 and reached no. 14 on the Billboard 200 chart. It became four times platinum and contained the hits “Ain’t 2 Proud 2 Beg”, “What About Your Friends” and “Baby-Baby-Baby”, which reached the second place on the charts. They supported MC Hammer on his tour and after a Watkins’s health incident and a period of Lopes’s personal problems with her affair, TLC recorded their second album “CrazySexyCool”, which came out in November of 1994 and peaked at the third position on the charts. It became eleven times platinum and among the album’s hits were four singles that all entered at the top five of the charts, with “Creep” and “Waterfalls” reaching the first position. The latest gave TLC an MTV Video Music Award, while the group won also two Grammys in 1996.

Although TLC faced a bankrupt and led them to several legal disputes, each member continued dealing with various projects and the group’s next album named “FanMail” came out in 1999 and topped the US album charts, including the no. 1 hits, “No Scrubs” and “Unpretty”. It became six times platinum and brought to the group another three Grammys. Lopes wasn’t satisfied by her role in the group and after the “FanMail” tour, TLC took a break and Lopes focused on her solo career. Before she finished her second album, she died in a car accident. The two remaining members decided to finish TLC’s fourth album, which came out in 2002, under the name “3D”. It reached sixth place on the charts and contained participations of a lot of rappers.

In the following years, TLC appeared in many live shows and events, recorded new songs and released five compilation albums. Their fifth album “TLC” came out in the summer of 2017, peaking at no. 38 on the US album charts.
