The Smashing Pumpkins tickets & concert schedule

The Smashing Pumpkins were created in 1998, in Chicago Illinois, when Billy Corgan decided to form a new rock band. He found James Iha and began writing their first songs. D’arcy Wretzky became the new bassist and after a show as a trio, drummer Jimmy Chamberlin completed the formation.

Smashing Pumpkins’ first release was the 1990’s song, “I Am One”, while their first album “Gish”, came out in May of 1991. The group went for a tour, including live performances as supporting acts for great rock bands like Guns N’ Roses and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Following the grunge wave, Pumpkins moved to Marietta in order to concentrate on their music and recorded their second album “Siamese Dream” that came out in 1993, entering at the top ten of the US album charts. It contained the songs “Cherub Rock”, “Today” and “Disarm".

The double album “Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness” came out in 1995 and topped the American charts. Pumpkins won their first Grammy for “Bullet with Butterfly Wings” and continued touring, while Chamberlin was sucked later, due to a drug accident. The group recorded their fourth album “Adore” with the participation of several drummers, which came out in 1998 and reached the second place on the charts, including the song “Ava Adore”. With the return of Chamberlin, the group released the album “Machina/The Machines of God”, while Wretzky was replaced by Melissa Auf der Maur. Pumpkins dissolved at the end of 2000 and returned almost five years later, but only with two original members, Corgan and Chamberlin. Nevertheless, they recorded the group’s seventh album named “Zeitgeist”, which came out in 2007, peaking at no. 2 on the charts.

Three new members, Jeff Schroeder, Mike Byrne and Nicole Fiorentino joined the formation in the following years, while Chamberlin left the group again. The next releases were 2012’s “Oceania” (no. 4 on the charts) and 2014’s “Monuments to an Elegy”, without Byrne and Fiorentino who had left earlier that year. After several live appearances during the next years, Chamberlin returned in 2015, being followed by Iha in 2018, when Pumpkins released their most recent album “Shiny and Oh So Bright, Vol. 1 / LP: No Past. No Future. No Sun.”.
