The National tickets & concert schedule

The National’s history started in 1999 when brothers Dessner, Aaron (guitar, bass, keyboards e.t.c.) and Bryce (guitar, keyboards), along with Matt Berninger (vocals) and brothers Devendorf, Bryan (drums) and Scott (bass, guitar) decided to create a new rock band in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Their debut and homonymous album came out in 2001, with indie rock and alternative country sound. It was followed by 2003’s “Sad Songs for Dirty Lovers” and 2005’s “Alligator” from which the group began gaining more fans, especially during their live appearances. Their next album “Boxer” came out in May of 2007 and it was The National’s first that managed to enter at the US album charts, with some of the album’s songs being used in various TV-series. The National followed R.E.M.’s tour in 2008, next to Modest Mouse and performed in many big music festivals.

After the group’s first documentary and their second EP, the National took part in several projects, collaborated with musician St. Vincent and released their fifth album named “High Violet”, which came out in 2010 and reached the third position on the US album charts. It became gold in six countries including the UK and it’s the group’s most successful album till nowadays. The National toured in many countries and they recorded a song for the famous TV-series Game of Throws named “The Rains of Castamere” (part of “A Song of Ice and Fire” novels). “Trouble Will Find Me” came out in 2013, it peaked also at number three on the US charts and won a Grammy nomination in 2014.

In the following years, the National continued touring and taking part in many fests and live events, while their next album “Sleep Well Beast” came out in September of 2017. It reached second place on the charts and won the “Best Alternative Music Album” Grammy Award. Their eighth album is going to be released in May of 2019, under the name “I Am Easy to Find”.
