The Lumineers tickets & concert schedule

The Lumineers’ history started in 2002 when Wesley Schultz (vocals, guitar, piano and Jeremiah Fraites (drums, piano, e.t.c.), both born in a suburb of New York City, New Jersey, began writing music and performing in venues, using various names at the beginning. They established their current name almost three years later and they went to Denver, Colorado, in 2009, in order to focus on a music career.

The duo found cellist Neyla Pekarek and they decided to work together. They used to perform in open mic venues and they made their first contract in 2011 and their debut and homonymous album came out in the Spring of 2012. It reached the second position on the US album charts and contained the hit “Ho Hey” which peaked at the third place of the charts. The album became three times platinum and it was followed by the EP “Winter”, while the trio won two Grammy nominations at the same year. After their success, The Lumineers followed a tour in the USA and later they appeared in Europe and Australia.

In the following years, The Lumineers continued writing music, including a song for the movie “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1” in 2014 and their second album “Cleopatra” came out in 2016. It topped the American charts and became platinum, being followed by “The Cleopatra World Tour”. After a series of successful live performances, Pekarek left the group in the Autumn of 2018. The Lumineers' third album named “III”, is going to come out in September of 2019.

The Lumineers have become a famous indie folk band, while their sound contains elements of Americana music genre and they have gained many fans during their live performances. Their style is regarded as similar to Mumford & Sons’, although some artists believe that they don’t belong to the category of rock groups.
