The Kooks tickets & concert schedule

The Kooks were created by the schoolmates Luke Pritchard (vocals, guitar), Hugh Harris (lead guitar, keyboards) and Paul Garred (drums), along with Max Rafferty (bass), in 2004, in Brighton, England. They began writing songs for a demo, in order to take part in live performances and to find a label. Their sound is described as indie rock and post-punk revival with similar other genres included.

When they made their first contract, they decided to tour first, before they enter the studio. The band’s first album was “Inside In / Inside Out” and although it came out in the same day with Arctic Monkeys', it managed to reach second place in the UK. The album featured among others the hits “You Don’t Love Me”, “She Moves in Her Own Way” and “Naïve” and became four times platinum later.

Before the release of the band’s second album “Konk”, Rafferty was sacked in early 2008. The album came out in April of 2008 and entered this time topped the UK charts (no. 41 in the USA), including the hits “Always Where I Need to Be” and “Shine On”. It was followed by “Junk of the Heart” that came out in September of 2011. During their tour in 2012, Garred left the group (he was dealing with an arm problem from 2009) and was replaced by Alexis Nunez. 2014's “Listen”, came out in 2014 and over one year later, an album with the band’s remixes followed, under the name “Hello, What’s Your Name”.

The Kooks continued to make live appearances, while “The Best of... So Far” compilation album came out in May of 2017, including eighteen songs. “Let’s Go Sunshine” is the band ’s most recent studio album, which was released in August of 2018 and reached the ninth position on the UK charts. In the beginning of 2019, it became known that Denton wouldn’t follow the band anymore, but his later announcement in Twitter has left the issue open.
