Spoon tickets & concert schedule

Spoon were created by two of the three members of a group named “The Alien Beats”. Britt Daniel (vocals, guitar, bass, e.t.c.) and drummer Jim Eno began writing their first songs and the band’s first EP named “Nefarious” came out in 1994. They made their first contract and recorded their debut album “Telephono”, which came out in April of 1996.

After a couple of changes to the formation as far as the bassist, Josh Zarbo became the new member and the band’s second album named “A Series of Sneaks” came out in 1998. It was followed by 2001’s “Girls Can Tell”, which was more successful than the previous two, as well as “Kill the Moonlight” that came out in August of 2002. Eric Harvey (keyboards, guitar, e.t.c.) joined the group in 2004 and their next album named “Gimme Fiction” was even more successful. It entered at no. 44 on the US album charts and topped the Independent Albums chart category. Spoon contributed to the soundtrack of the movie “Stranger than Fiction”, while with Rob Pope as the new bassist (Zarbo left in 2007) they released their sixth album “Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga” in the summer of 2007. It peaked at no. 10 on the charts, topping the Billboard Top Independent Albums chart again.

Since 2002, Spoon appeared in a lot of American TV-shows during that period, while their seventh album “Transference” came out in the beginning of 2010 and managed to reach the fourth position on the US album charts. They collaborated with Ray Davies and continue their live performances. Alex Fischel (keyboards, guitar) became a new member and the band recorded “They Want My Soul” which came out in 2014, peaking also at the fourth position of the American charts.

In 2017 Harvey left the group, while Spoon released “Hot Thoughts”, their ninth studio album. The band’s music genre is regarded as indie rock, art rock and post-punk revival, with indie pop elements in some of their albums.
