Shinedown tickets & concert schedule

Shinedown were created when Brent Stephen Smith (vocals), after the dissolve of the band “Dreve”, decided to begin a new band in 2001, in Jacksonville, Florida. Along with Brad Stewart (bass), Jasin Todd (guitar) and Barry Kerch (drums), they started to record their first demos and the group’s first album named “Leave a Whisper”, came out in 2003. It included the singles “Fly from the Inside” and “Burning Bright”, and after Shinedown’s first touring, it became platinum in the USA. They continued the live appearances with bands like Van Halen and Three Doors Down and in the summer of 2005, their first live DVD came out, under the name “Live from the Inside”.

Shinedown’s sound was a mixture of hard rock and alternative metal, with post-grunge elements. Before the release of their second album, they took part in the album “Killer Queen: A Tribute to Queen”, recording a cover of “Tie Your Mother Down”. Finally, “Us and Them”, was released in 2005, with the songs “Save Me” and “I Dare You” to separate. The group toured around the USA with other American rock bands and returned to the studio in the beginning of 2007. Smith sacked both Todd and Stewart later, because of their continuous conflicts with him (Smith along with Todd had also problems with drugs and alcohol during that period). With the help of other musicians that Smith had brought to the studio, the album “The Sound of Madness” came out in the summer of 2008. It peaked at no. 8 on the US album chart and among its hits are the songs “Second Chance” and “If You Only Knew”.

With a new line-up including Zach Myers on guitar and Eric Bass on drums, the next album “Amaryllis”, came out in March of 2012, reached the fourth place on the American charts and became gold later. The most successful song of the album was “Bully”. More live appearances followed, with bands such as Three Days Grace and Papa Roach, while Smith along with Myers released the “Acoustic Sessions” EP, which contains ten covers of fans favorite songs.

Shinedown have released another two studio albums until nowadays, “Threat to Survival” in 2015 and the recent “Attention Attention” in May of 2018, while they have made several line appearances, with Iron Maiden, Godsmack and other.
