Robbie Williams was born in Stoke-on-Trent, England, in 1974 and began his professional career with the pop group Take That, at the age of sixteen. His full name is Robbie Williams and he was the youngest member in the famous boyband. With Take That, Williams gained popularity, he took part in four studio records and many live performances around the world. He left the group in 1995 and he returned in 2010, for the album “Progress”, staying inactive from 2012 until nowadays.

After he left Take That, he began his solo career and his first album was “Life thru a Lens”, in 1997. It peaked at the top of Official Charts in the UK, including the top 5 hits “Angel”, one of Williams’s most famous song and also his best-selling single, “Old Before I Die” and “Let Me Entertain You”. It was followed by “I’ve Been Expecting You” in October of 1998, which also topped the UK album chart and contained the no. 1 hits “Millennium” and “She’s the One” (World Party cover). Williams toured in the USA to promote the album, while his first compilation album named “The Ego Has Landed” came out in 1999.

The album “Sing When You’re Winning” came out in August of 2000 and became Williams’s third no. 1 in a row in the UK. Among its hits are the top song “Rock DJ”, along with “Supreme” and “Kids”, a collaboration with Kylie Minogue. The next period Williams wanted to do something different, so his next studio release was the cover album “Swing When You’re Winning”. The album which reached the first place on the UK charts again contains swing covers from old famous artists, (including Frank Sinatra). Among the songs is the duo with Nicole Kidman in “Somethin’ Stupid” that topped the UK Singles chart.

Williams’s next album was “Escapology” and was released in November of 2002. The album became no. 1 in more than ten countries around Europe and includes his most successful song “Feel”, along with “Come Undone” and “Something Beautiful”. The album “Greatest Hits” in 2014, included the hit “Eternity/The Road to Mandalay” and “Radio”. After the release of the also successful album “Intensive Care", with the song “Tripping” to separate, he won the “Best Male” MTV Europe Music Award and when his 2006 World Tour was announced, he wrote history by entering “The Guinness Book of World Records”, since over 1.5 million tickets were sold in the same day!

Robbie Williams continued the successful releases during the next years. He recorded the dance album “Rudebox”, with songs like the synonymous and also the cover of “Kiss Me” by Tin Tin, and another four studio albums (all reaching no. 1 in the Official Charts. Williams’s discography includes a lot of compilation albums while he has collaborated with many great artists and groups, such as Tom Jones, Queen, Pet Shop Boys, and many more. He has taken part in various projects and among the music awards he has received, are the 18 BRIT awards (he is first in music history in that list).
