Phoenix tickets & concert schedule

Phoenix started, when fellow schoolmates Thomas Mars (vocals), Christian Mazzalai (guitar) and Deck d'Arcy, who had formed a garage band in the 90's outside Paris, met Laurent Brancowitz (lead guitar) in 1995 and two years later picked the name Phoenix for the new indie pop line-up. They began writing songs and became later the backing band of "Air", a French duo also from Versailles.

Their first album was "United", that came out in the summer of 2000, with the song "If I Ever Feel Better" to separate, in countries such as Italy, apart from France. Their single "Too Young" was used to the soundtracks of the movies Swallow Hal and Lost in Translation. The next album named "Alphabetical" was released in 2004, including the songs "Everything Is Everything" and "Run Run Run". After that, the band toured in many countries and released their first live album, under the name "Live! Thirty Days Ago", in November of the same year. They returned to studios for the third album named "It's Never Been Like That" that was released in 2006, while they contributed to a compilation album for the fashion label and electronic record company "Kitsuné", along with bands and artists such as Elvis Costello, Lou Reed, Kiss and more.

Phoenix's next album named "Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix", came out in 2009. The album, which apart from its indie pop styles, contained pop rock and new wave elements, was the band's first mainstream success and brought them a Grammy Award for "Best Alternative Music Album". Phoenix played the hits "Lisztomania" and "1901" in various TV shows and appeared in many big festivals not only in the USA but also in Europe, while part of their tour was shown in the documentary "From a Mess to the Masses" that came out in 2011. "Bankrupt!", the band's fifth album came out in 2013 and reached no. 4 on the US album charts (no. 3 in France) and included the songs "Trying to Be Cool" and "Entertainment".

Phoenix continued their live appearances and they took part in Netflix's musical comedy film "A Very Murray Christmas", performing with Bill Murray "Alone on Christmas Day", a song by The Beach Boys. After a tour in 2017, the group revealed the name of their next album, "Ti Amo", that came out in the summer of that year. It has a different music style, consisting of synth-pop and Italo disco elements.
