Of Monsters and Men tickets & concert schedule

Of Monsters and Men’s history started in 2010 in Reykjavík, Iceland, when solo artist Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir (vocals, guitar, piano) form a new music group with Ragnar Þórhallsson (vocals, guitars and other), Brynjar Leifsson (lead guitars, melodica, e.t.c.) and multi-instrumentalist Arnar Rósenkranz Hilmarsson (drums and other).

After they won an Icelandic music competition, they were joined by Árni Guðjónsson (accordion, piano, e.t.c.) and Kristján Páll Kristjánsson (bass, egg shaker) and they continued the live performances in Iceland. During Of Monsters and Men’ appearance in Iceland Airwaves festival, an American radio station who had noticed them, recorded live the song “Little Talks” which became later their biggest success. After they made their first contract, the group’s first album named “My Head Is an Animal” came out in September of 2011 and next year in rest Europe and North America. It entered at the top 5 of the album charts in many countries including the UK (no.3), while it peaked at no. 6 on the Billboard 200 and topped another two American charts. It became platinum in seven countries, with “Little Talks” becoming a worldwide hit!

After a series of live performances in American and not only fests and a European tour, Guðjónsson decided to leave the group in order to return to school and Of Monsters and Men recruited a new touring member. They appeared also in an American TV-show and later they continued taking part in more fests, including Brazilian and Chilean Lollapalooza, Coachella, Bonnaroo and Glastonbury Festival. A couple of their songs were used to movies while the song “Sinking Man” was part of the soundtrack of the famous American TV-series “The Walking Dead”. The group’s second album named “Beneath the Skin” came out in June of 2015 and peaked at no. 3 on the US album charts (no. 1 in Canada), with the song “Crystals” to separate.

In the following years Of Monsters and Men kept on touring, and even more of their songs were featured in TV-series, while the band had a cameo in two episodes of “Game of Thrones”. They are regarded as a chamber pop band, with elements of indie folk and other similar music genres.
