The folk-rock band Mumford & Sons, was created by four multi-talented musicians in 2007, in London. They chose that name because Marcus Mumford was the more active member who used to organize their live appearances. The other three artists are Winston Marshall, Ted Dwane and Ben Lovett. Also, many other artists have joined the band during their course in the music industry, as studio or live musicians.

The band toured around the UK in 2008, performing at the Glastonbury Festival and later visited Australia, next to Laura Marling. Their first release was the EP "Love Your Ground" in November of the same year. "Sign No More" was their debut album that came out in October of 2009 in the UK and a few months later in the USA and Canada. It reached at no. 2 in both USA and the UK album charts, with the hits "Little Lion Man" (it won one Grammy nomination) and "The Cave" to separate, while it gained the "Album of the Year" BRIT Award later. Their live performances in several TV shows in the USA made them popular in Australia. They collaborated with artists such as "Ray Davies" and continued touring mainly in the USA and the UK.

"Babel" was their second album that came out in 2012. It reached the top of the US charts as well as of the Official Albums Chart in the UK, with the song "I Will Wait" to separate. The album won the "Album of the Year" Grammy Award, in the ceremony of 2013. The band followed a worldwide tour until the end of that year. They returned five months later to the studio for their third album that came out in 2015, under the name "Wilder Mind". It became no. 1 in seven countries, including the USA and the UK and contained the songs "Believe" and "The Wolf".

The band's fourth album named "Delta", came out in September of 2018. It contains collaborations with a few musicians and it is characterized by its jazz, electronica and rap elements. The album peaked at the second place of the UK charts and managed to become number one in the USA.
