Marilyn Manson tickets & concert schedule

Marilyn Manson was born in 1969 in Canton, Ohio. His real name is Brian Hugh Warner and he is the frontman of the rock band with the same name. After finishing high school, he moved to Fort Lauderdale with his parents, where he studied journalism and made his first contacts with other musicians.

In 1989, along with Scott Mitchell Putesky (guitar e.t.c.), known as Daisy Berkowitz, created Marilyn Manson & the Spooky Kids, which became just “Marilyn Manson”. The members' nicknames were combinations of sex symbols of the past and serial killers’ surnames. They also used to wear make-up and strange costumes, especially during the first years. The group's line-up changed a lot of times, while nowadays only Manson is considered a permanent member. The most long-lasting members apart from Berkowitz who stayed until 1996 (he died in 2017) was Stephen Bier (keyboards), known as “Madonna Wayne Gacy”, Jeordie White (bass), known as “Twiggy Ramirez” and Kenny Wilson (drums), known as “Ginger Fish”.

The band’s first album was “Portrait of an American Family” which came out in 1994, after its precursor “The Manson Family Album” in the same year. It was followed by 1996’s “Antichrist Superstar” which reached the third position on the US album charts and became platinum, with the song "The Beautiful People" to separate. Marilyn Manson’s biggest success came with the third album named “Mechanical Animals” which topped the American charts. It became also platinum and contained the hits “The Dope Show”, which won among others a Grammy nomination, “Rock Is Dead” and “I Don't Like the Drugs (But the Drugs Like Me)”. After a big tour, the band returned to the studio and recorded “Holy Wood (In the Shadow of the Valley of Death)” which came out in 2000, including the song “Disposable Teens”. In 2001 the band took part in Ozzfest, while its fifth album “The Golden Age of Grotesque” reached the top of the charts for a second time. It included the song “Mobscene” which gained one more Grammy nomination.

In the following years, the band released another five studio albums, with the most recent to be 2017’s “Heaven Upside Down”. Their sound is something between Industrial metal and rock, with elements of hard, glam and shock rock. Manson has also taken part in TV-shows and documentaries while he had small roles in various films and TV-series and he also likes painting. He is a very eccentric personality, while his acts and some of his lyrics have caused controversy a lot of times.
