After Minogue made her first contract, she released "The Locomotion" (a cover of Little Eva's song) as her first single, in 1987. The song made the most sales in that decade, giving her an ARIA Award. Her first hit "I Should Be So Lucky" was recorded in London and reached the top of the charts in seven countries, including the UK and Australia. She won one more ARIA Award, while her first album, named "Kylie" came out in the summer of 1988. It reached the top of the UK chart, becoming six times platinum.

She took part in her first movie, "The Delinquents" and her next album "Rhythm of Love", came out in late 1990, including the song "Better the Devil You Know", which reached the highest position among the singles. It was followed by "Let's Get to It" and later by "Greatest Hits", that became no. 1 in the UK. The next album, named "Kylie Minogue" came out in 1994, with the hit "Confide in Me" to separate.
