J.I.D tickets & concert schedule

J.I.D was born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1990 and his real name is Destin Choice Route. He used to listen to bands like Earth, Wind & Fire or Sly and the Family Stone and later he became a fan of the 90’s hip hop music. After he finished high school he played football for some period until he deals with music.

He made his first steps in the music industry when he took part in the American musical collective named Spillage Village which was created by EarthGang members in 2010. He began releasing several mixtapes while he worked in parallel and performed at small live events. He followed EarthGang’s tour as an opening act in 2014 and a few months later he released his first EP named “DiCaprio”, at the beginning of 2015. After the release of two compilation albums with Spillage Village, J.I.D made a new contract with a label company and his first album came out in March of 2017, under the name “The Never Story”. Apart from EarthGang, the album contained collaborations with 6LACK and Mereba. He opened for J. Cole’s tour and he continued the live appearances in North America and later in Europe. He worked with Foster The People in “Pay The Man” and later with Denzel Curry in his song “Sirens”.

J.I.D’s second album “DiCaprio 2” came out in November of 2018, peaking at no. 41 on the Billboard 200 chart and also at no. 21 and 17 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and Top Rap Albums respectively. The album contained also collaborations with ASAP Ferg, Method Man, Joey Badass and others.
