Jennifer Lopez was born in The Bronx, New York City, in 1969 and she has Puerto Rican ancestry by her parents. She began learning singing when she became five and her full name is Jennifer Lynn Lopez. She took part in a teen movie in 1986 and immediately she fall in love with acting.

Lopez’s career as a dancer started when she danced next to the New Kids on the Block and after that, she joined her first TV-show. Her first main role came in 1997’s movie “Blood and Wine”. A lot of other movies followed and in 1999, Lopez made her entrance in music with the song “If You Had My Love”, which became a number one hit in the USA. Her first album “On the 6” came out that that summer, containing also the hit “Waiting for Tonight”. After her appearance in the film “The Cell”, her second album “J.Lo.” came out in the beginning of 2001 and became an instant success. It topped the American charts, including the songs “Love Don't Cost a Thing” and no. 1 hit “I’m Real”. It was followed by 2002’s remix album “J to tha L–O! The Remixes” which became the first in this category, entering at the first position on the US album charts.

“This Is Me… Then” Lopez's third album, came out in November of the same year. It reached the second place on the charts and included the hit “All I Have”, along with “Jenny from the Block”. 2005’s “Rebirth” was Lopez’s fourth album, peaking at no. 2 on the US charts, with the song “Get Right” to separate. 2007's album “Como Ama una Mujer”, included the song “Qué Hiciste” which topped the Latin charts. It was followed by “Brave” at the same year and after Lopez became a mother in 2008, she took a break until the release of “Love?” in 2011. The album received mixed reviews and peaked at no. 5 on the charts. It contained the hit “On the Floor”, a cooperation with Pitbull.

Lopez, along with Mark Antony, joined the American Idol series in 2011 and after the success of “On the Floor”, she started a world tour in the summer of 2012. The compilation album “Dance Again... the Hits” came out in July, including another successful collaboration with Pitbull in “Dance Again”. Her most recent album is 2014’s “A.K.A.”, which included the song “Booty" which later was remixed by Iggy Azalea. Lopez continued the live performances and the collaborations, she released a couple of singles with artists such as DJ Khaled, she played in movies and she took part in various projects.

Jeniffer Lopez’s music style varies from hip hop and R&B to pop, Latin and dance, while apart from being a music star and a great performer, she has made her impact in fashion and is regarded as a sex symbol. She has received many awards and has sold over eighty million records around the world!
