James Morrison tickets & concert schedule

James Morrison was born in Rugby, in the county of Warwickshire, in 1984. He learned how to play guitar at a young age and when he moved to Newquay he used to play in the streets. When he finished his studies he began performing famous songs until he started to write his own music in the following years.

Morrison’s music style is something between soul and pop rock, including similar genres, while his first influences were famous artists such as Stevie Wonder, Van Morrison and others. Morrison became famous soon after the release of “You Give Me Something”, a song which was included to his first album named “Undiscovered” that came out in July of 2006. It reached the top of the UK album charts (no. 24 in the USA) and contained also the song “Wonderful World”, while it became five times platinum in Britain. Morrison took part in fests and live events while he made his first appearances in American TV-shows in 2007. He won his first BRIT Award for “Best British Male Solo Artist” and continued touring.

“Songs for You, Truths for Me”, Morrison’s second album came out in September of 2008 and peaked at the third position on the UK album charts, with the song “Broken Strings”, a duet with Nelly Furtado to separate, reaching the second position on the UK Singles chart. He supported Take That on their tour in 2009 and collaborated with Marco Carta, while he covered Michael Jackson’s song “Man in the Mirror” in 2010. His third album was 2011’s “The Awakening” which topped the UK charts for a second time and contained the hit “I Won’t Let You Go”. He had also worked with Demi Lovato in the same year, while he had become a father in 2008.

Morrison’s fourth album “Higher Than Here” came out in October of 2015 and reached no. 7 on the UK albums chart. It was followed by “You're Stronger Than You Know” which was released in March of 2019, peaking at no. 14 on the UK charts.
